Wild Argentine Shrimp Thai Satay
I was raised to never show up to a party empty handed, and this rang true at my sisters house-warming party a few months ago. I was pondering what to make with my end of the week groceries and thought what about Satay! So convenient to make and super easy to transport. I kind just wing these types of recipes but it went over so well that I was asked to bring them to the next function, and the next.
These are sure to score you brownie points with all the party goers and are a sure fire way to impress. The great thing is that you can use any meat (replacement, or veggies) you have on hand.
Recipe:
1lbs TruLocal Wild Argentine Shrimp
3-4 cloves of garlic
1 Tbsp. grated ginger
2 Tbsp. of cilantro Leaves – chopped finely
1 Tbsp. cracked pepper
1 Small Red Chilli – Chopped
2 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
2 Tsp Fish Sauce (can omit if necessary due to allergies)
Directions:
Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Add the shrimp and mix well, coating the seafood completely. Leave in the fridge to marinate for 12-24 hours. If you don’t have the time, move to the next step!
Using a skewer (I buy mine at the dollar store), poke through the pork and continue doing so until the skewer is almost full (leaving a small amount of space at the bottom for holding). I like to do 2-3 shrimps per mini skewer.
Grill the skewers on the barbecue until brown all over or broil at 500 for 5 minutes, rotate and broil for another 5-7 minutes.
Enjoy!
