Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe, So Speak Your Truth
This week I had the pleasure of attending the 2019 SIAL conference for food innovation. I was invited by Vista Magazine as a Show Ambassador and was able to meet with incredible companies and organizations in the food industry from all over the country, and world.
As incredible as the convention itself was, something else left me almost speechless.
There were 4 ambassadors in attendance, by happenstance we were all women. By another coincidence, two of us knew each other from another event and social media, and the other two had also met through another workshop.
These 3 women that were there with me all came from different places, backgrounds, age groups, we all had a different story that led us to nutrition and wellness, we all had varying experiences that pushed us to be where we are today. We were a diverse group, we were all entrepreneurs, and we all just clicked.
We had an incredible time together and we chatted about such diverse topics, from dating life to married life, to our pasts and internal struggles to our business plans and ambitions.
There was never a lull in conversation, there was never a misstep. We had different opinions and we respectfully heard each other out, we appreciated our views and we spoke openly about them.
We were all so blown away and just flat out happy that we ended up meeting and vibing the way that we did — trust me it’s not as easy at these events as it may seem.
By this point, you all know my views — everything happens for a reason, and what you put out there inevitably you will take in. By being our authentic selves, we were able to connect with one another, be open to receiving each other, and were honest with each other. It’s a beautiful thing to be accepted for yourself.
I don’t think any of us would be where we are today if we hadn’t consciously chosen to speak our truths earlier on in our career, personal and social lives. We maybe wouldn’t have gotten along so well if we had been trapped in the mindsets of our past. And we definitely wouldn’t have had such thought provoking and heart warming conversations.
The depth of strong women is mind blowing to me. I spent a mere 7 hours with these women, barely scratched the surface, and I feel like I know them better than past co-workers, gym friends, and school mates.
Thank you so much for sharing your stories ladies, I’m so grateful.
